probably because she’s pregnant, it’s really poor form to have john kill his wife while pregnant with his unborn child? like… there’s an unborn child… she’s pregnant… ?????

why does a woman have more value to you when she has a fetus in her than when she doesn’t , just wondering

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to step in and be rude, but I think what this person is trying to say is that they value the life of the child, and John (and hopefully Sherlock’s) happiness with the child more so than they value Mary’s. Therefore, they simply wish to let the child be born before Mary is killed, so as to allow John to have his child and his family with Sherlock, and not her.

I think, upon rewatching TRF a billion months later, my favorite thing about this is that in the montage, every single other person informed of something unpleasant (the security guard/the banker/the man at the prison) spills his coffee as the situation dissolves.  But Lestrade?  No sir.  Not only does he not lose his head because break-ins aren’t his area, but his coffee has a lid.  A fucking lid, motherfucker.  No unnecessary spillage for this HBIC.

Lestrade, motherfuckers.  Keeping it real, keeping it clean.

That is literally the best analysis anyone’s ever done about this scene

Female Fantasy III

Perfecto.

perfect

May they be forever alone for their elitist douche-baggery.

I was recently interviewing the woman who founded Her Universe and we were talking specifically about women and geekdom. I asked about the rise of girls in geek culture and she very accurately corrected me: There is no “rise” of geek girls. We’ve always been here. Girls are just as nerdy as dudes are. Ladies have always been interested in sci fi and fantasy and video games – we just don’t talk about it a lot because men are assholes.

Reblogging for all of the above, but it’s especially the last comment that made me hit the button to share.

They got enough money to pull this shit, but can’t give their employees a living wage.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ like????

And what about the employees who now have to give hugs to the creepy fucks coming in trying to not pay for their goddamned food????

Hi!  McDonald’s employee here!!

So the thing about this is that it’s not every customer that walks in the door that gets this opportunity.   In fact, it’s a time-based selection.   We have these cards that tell us that the customer who orders at, say. 2:16:32 (yes, it’s even down to the second) can pay with Lovin’ to get their order for free!!

The employee themselves select what the customer has to do to get their free meal, chosen from a list given to us (from calling someone they love, to telling a joke, or even blowing a kiss) so we don’t at all feel as though we have to accept harassment from these customers as we choose what they do and they don’t at all have to be physically interactive with us.

I actually really love this “pay with lovin’” idea, and it really excites crew and customers, so I hate all the negative press this is getting.  It was incredibly uplifting to see the smiles of customers getting their meal for free and the excitement of the customers around them, even if they themselves didn’t get a free meal.  One customer I had cried as she told me that she was going through a rough patch and this was just the sort of positivity she needed and I prompted another to call someone he loves and he excitedly phoned his wife, of whom he proudly told us just found out she was pregnant and the whole restaurant cheered for him; it was beautiful.

The theme behind this idea is love so let’s all do our part to spread the message, okay?
