moffatcriticism:

Why could a female Master not be called ‘The Master’? What’s Moffat intending on calling the Doctor if he ever regenerated into a woman? The Nurse?

A female “master” is a mistress. A female doctor is… a doctor. The fact that this has so many notes hurts my brain.

I mean, really, Moffat’s already proven he knows “doctor” and “nurse” aren’t gendered with Rory. Master and Mistress are gendered titles, while “nurse” and “doctor” are professions (though doctor can also be a gender-neutral title).

Not to mention the fact that Moffat wrote a female Doctor before and called her…the Doctor.

Long story short, this criticism is really, really poorly thought out.
